The beaches of Vandellòs and L'Hospitalet de l'Infant, awarded the 2024 Ecobeaches Flag
The beaches of Arenal, Punta del Riu, Torn, L'Almadrava and Cala Justell have renewed this environmental quality label.
The beaches of Arenal, Punta del Riu, Torn and L'Almadrava and also Cala Justell in the municipality of Vandellòs i L'Hospitalet de l'Infant have obtained the Ecobeaches 2024 Flag, a distinction awarded by the Technical Association for the Management of Waste and the Environment (ATEGRUS) with the aim of distinguishing beaches that stand out for their environmental quality policy.
The beaches of Arenal, Punta del Riu, Torn and L'Almadrava have managed to renew this recognition, which they have received every year since 2014. Cala Justell, which achieved it in 2021 for the first time, has also achieved it.
The award ceremony of the Ecoplayas 2024 Flags took place last Friday, 27th October, within the framework of the XXII International Congress and Exhibition of Beaches - Ecoplayas 2023, which was held from 25th to 27th October at the Palacio de Congresos in Marbella. The event and the congress were attended by the Councillor for Tourism, Elidia López, who collected the award.
The jury for these awards evaluates a series of objective criteria in terms of facilities and maintenance, from an environmental, tourism and sustainability point of view. In the case of the previously awarded beaches, it assesses the evolution in the last year (maintenance of positive aspects and improvements made).
"Thanks to its continuous commitment to improving quality in all aspects", these four beaches and this cove in Vandellòs i L'Hospitalet de l'Infant will be able to display the Ecobeaches Flag in 2024, "which accredits excellence as a reflection of the line of action of the management of these spaces of enjoyment for the benefit of users and society as a whole", as ATEGRUS explained.
