Climbing Ca la Torre
Ca la Torre (tower's house) is the most significant manor house in Vandellòs, which takes its name from its emblematic architectural element, the adjoining 16th century defence tower, declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest (BCIN).
It is a cultural facility located in the former manor house of the Gil-Vernet family, which has had several generations of internationally renowned doctors, and the mediaeval tower. This type of tower was built as a place of observation and protection against pirate attacks that threatened our coasts. The building currently houses the Historical Archive, together with spaces for entities and an exhibition and interpretation area of the history and heritage of the town. Open-air social and cultural activities are organised in the back gardens. The medieval tower can be visited.
